Sundance Director's Lab: Como Island

Sundance Collab Directors Course – Short Film Project

As part of the Sundance Collab Directors Course, I was given a script with the challenge of making it my own—reshaping the narrative through a distinct visual and emotional lens. Rather than following the text verbatim, I reimagined the story’s tone, characters, and pacing to reflect my directorial voice.

I led the entire creative process: casting, location planning, visual storytelling, and collaborating closely with a small crew to bring the piece to life. The result is a short film that feels personal, cinematic, and grounded in human emotion—an exploration of how a director can transform a shared script into something entirely original.

This project deepened my belief in story as a living, collaborative process—and showcased my ability to lead with clarity, adaptability, and creative intent.
